Timothy A. Griswold

Tim was born and raised in Utah.  He is licensed to practice law in both Texas and California, has been a practicing lawyer since 2008, and is a seasoned trial attorney.  His primary practice areas are family law and estate planning.  He chose to specialize in these areas to help his clients make positive transitions in the midst of often their lives' greatest storms.  Tim has walked through the storms of divorce and the death of loved ones himself, so he understands what clients are going through.

Tim also has extensive experience in civil litigation, but only accepts cases in this area on a case-by-case basis.

Tim graduated cum laude from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, College of Law in 2008, where he received a full-tuition scholarship.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Information Systems from Utah State University, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class.  He also has an Associate of Arts degree in Chinese Mandarin, jointly awarded by Monterey Peninsula Community College and Defense Language Institute in 1998, where he was awarded the Provost's Award as the top academic student.

Tim speaks Chinese Mandarin fluently (DLPT V Score 3/3+) and Japanese at an intermediate level (DLPT V Score 2+/2).

Prior to law school, Tim served in Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2003-2004 and is currently a major in the US Air Force Reserves.  As a hobby, Tim is an ardent practitioner of Taijiquan.  In 2016, he won the nationwide "Push Hands King Competition," sponsored jointly by the International Wushu Sanshoudao Association (IWSD) and Tigerclaw.  In his spare time, he writes about Kungfu Tai Chi and is the legal consultant for the US branch of the International Wushu Sanshou Dao Association.
